Owl Cupcakes for Jason

Hoot. :) hehehehe :)

Anyways, here are some owl cupcakes for Jason's b-day...

Dunno why the owls.. just because they look cool. And Jason is cool too. haha :)

Easy and fun... Although the Oreos were a pain sometimes =P Even after trying to help soften out the filling with a lil microwave-action =P

Here is the owl fam with the baby owls too.. haw haw ;)

*you can find out how to make these on "Hello, Cupcake!"* :)

These are so cute and I want to try to make them for a friend who loves owls :) How did you do the decoration on top, besides the oreo cookies? I appreciate any help you can offer!

Hi Jenn!
Sure! It's pretty simple!
First I frosted the whole cupcake, then added the open Oreos. Then for the eyes I used brown M&M's and Reese's Pieces (the lil shelled candies) - same with the beak, it was just a yellow M&M or Reese's Pieces. I just stuck these onto the Oreos on for the eyes and into the cupcake for the beak. For the lil eye dot, I just used from royal icing.

As for the hair/ears, It's just the other side of the Oreo cookie (w/o the frosting) that's cut into a lil piece smaller than half of the cookie. Then just attach the ears to the cupcake and use a icing tip to put the frosting all over the head :)

Hope this helps!
